Looking Through the Lens

Author's Note: This piece started off as a stream of consciousness. It was a rather bizarre one, and it went all over the place, so I had a hard time deciding which topic to write about. I finally decided on a photo album because I knew I could take that in many different directions. After rewriting this a few times I finally chose this copy of the poem. In this poem, the photo album is a metaphor for my life.

A photo album: just pages of plastic,
My life summoned up in one little scrapbook,
The holidays, the vacations, the fun times,
Smiles to show no worries are present,
Goofy poses, lots of laughter, just carefree.

Everyday I turn a new  page to start out fresh,
It starts out blank, then fills up throughout the day,
The times I laugh, the times I cry,
Happy or sad, I'll show it all,
Crafting each page to be the fullest it can be.

  1. This poem was something really different for you in my opinion. I loved the whole idea behind it being a metaphor of your life. I think the last line exemplifies this well. Overall, I love the picture and the poem was very sweet:)
